Zvi Pantanowitz , who headed the English radio news department for many years, passed on Thursday, aged 88. He was buried at the Zichron Ya’akov cemetery on Sunday, surrounded by hundreds of family members  and friends , in a dignified ceremony , befitting of a man who to know him was to love him. Zvi was born in South Africa and before embarking on a career in journalism, was a member of Kibbutz Yizre’el in the Jezreel Valley. In a tribute to Pantz, here is a speech he delivered to a gathering marking the 75th anniversary of South Africa Habonim- Dror , held at Kibbutz Yizre’el in 2005.
