In an effort to quickly build new homes for the evacuees from Gaza periphery and northern border communities , the government recently endorsed regulation removing the need for prior consultation with the Jewish National Fund  before approval is granted for new building projects. JNF -KKL is concerned that the measure will lead to the destruction of forest areas to make way for building. KAN's Mark Weiss spoke with Noah Tal, Director of the JNF KKL Planning division.
