Riley's first big move was to poach the defensive coordinator from crosstown rival UCLA, bringing over D'Anton Lynn to run the Trojans defense. Another power move by Riley was snagging North Dakota State head coach Matt Entz to be USC's linebacker coach and associate head coach for the defense. Entz has served as the Bison head coach since 2019, winning two national titles at the FCS level. The NCAA Transfer Portal is wide open and the action has been fast and furious.
