Sinopsis
Many of the tens of thousands of Bedouin living in unrecognized villages and shanty towns in the Negev do not have bomb shelters. Since October 7, they too have been targeted by Hamas and Islamic Jihad rockets launched from the Gaza Strip. Seven members of the Bedouin community have been killed by rockets. The Israeli humanitarian NGO IsraAID, working in partnership with AJEEC-NISPED and the Tamar Center is now delivering and installing protective spaces for some of these unrecognized Bedouin villages. The temporary shelters will offer a degree of protection for them for the ongoing missile fire. In the initial phase of this project about 40 protected spaces were installed, and painted, in unrecognized Bedouin villages in Israel’s south. Reporter Arieh O’Sullivan spoke with Kher el-Baz, the chairman of AJEEC-NISPED. (photo: courtesy) See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
