In Britain, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has tapped Jewish lawmaker Grant Shapps as his defense secretary, after Ben Wallace formally handed in his resignation. The 54-year-old Shapps, who has no military experience, was previously serving as minister for energy security and net zero. Commenting on the pick, David Mencer, a political consultant and former Director of UK Labour Friends of Israel, told KAN's Naomi Segal that Shapps is considered a good communicator and loyal to Sunak.
