Police say it will be weeks before Golan wind turbine work can resume

Sinopsis

Police sources say construction of wind turbines on the Golan Heights is unlikely  to resume in the coming weeks. There were large protests by Druze  in June that led to a temporary halt in construction and police say it will take weeks to deploy forces ahead of  for the renewed construction. Since the freeze, negotiations have taken place  between Druze leaders and the Prime Minister’s Office, but without a breakthrough. KAN's Mark Weiss spoke with Dr Amir Khnifess, Chair of the Israel Druze Center, and asked him why the Druze residents on the Golan Heights are opposed to the construction of the wind turbines.
