On Tisha B’Av, by law, restaurants and places of entertainment are shut tonight. But several restaurants in Tel Aviv have announced that they will open business as usual as a sign of protest against the judicial reform legislation recently passed by the Knesset. We spoke with Prof. Jeffery Woolf, a professor in the Talmud department in Bar Ilan University,  about the extreme polarization afflicting Israel today over the judicial reforms, but also about the fear of religion or religious traditions, including the move to open restaurants on this night.
