Sinopsis
Highway 16, a multi-billion shekel new road that cuts through four tunnels, seven bridges and three interchanges to bring a new entrance to the city of Jerusalem opens next week. While built ahead of schedule - one benefit of the COVID pandemic - the new road is expected to ease congestion into the capital. But critics say it will exacerbate leaving town and did not adequately address public transportation. Reporter Arieh O’Sullivan spoke with Prof. Eran Feitelson, of the department of geography at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, about the new road.
