Sinopsis
A very rare parchment from the time of the First Temple, over 2,600 years ago, that had been given to an American woman and hanged on a wall in the western state of Montana in the United States for the past 55 years, has been recovered by antiquity agents and returned to Israel. The fragment, which contains four lines of paleo-Hebrew script and addressed to a man called Ishamel, is to be presented to the public at a conference next week in Jerusalem. Reporter Arieh O’Sullivan spoke with Dr. Joe Uziel, head of the Dead Sea Scrolls Unit at the Israel Antiquities Authority, about the parchment and its unique story.
