The firing of rockets and mortars toward the southern Golan Heights from Syria was a huge escalation. The recent Iranian drone infiltration and rocket fire from Lebanon was setting up Israel for an Iranian trap. This according to Seth Frantzman, Middle East analyst for The Jerusalem Post. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that Israel was being cautious but at the cost of damaging its deterrence against its enemies.
