There are an estimated 18.1 million new cancer cases globally, and cancer remains the second-leading cause of death in the United States, where more than 1.7 million people are diagnosed with cancer every year. What is cancer? According to current medical practices, cancer begins when cells acquire the ability to grow uncontrollably and ultimately invade and damage the body’s normal tissues.
