Magnificent Life

For whoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4 The concept of victory is not foreign to the scriptures. Right from the time of Abraham down to the time of Apostle Paul, there has always been a reason to fight or acquire victory. Obviously, the mention of the word victory already connotes a fight; it says there is a struggle. Now, just like nothing accentuates the importance of freedom more than slavery, nothing makes victory as desirous or as sweet as the colossal failure we see around us. One of the most insightful thoughts on this can be found in the writing of Isaiah. First, he says, 'Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.' Next, he says, 'See, the darkness covers the earth, and gross darkness the people' (Isaiah 60:1-2). This is definitely saying your light should shine amid gross darkness.
