She answered a calling to gender transition which began at age 63.  Since then, she has written a book, A Calling from the Bones, volunteered at a local clinic offering gender centered care, undergone gender affirming surgery, and completed the MA program at Pacifica in Depth Psychology.  She created a concierge practice centered around ketamine and focuses on PTSD and suicidality.  Before her transition, she graduated from West Point, where she was the captain of the baseball team, served for 4 years as a paratrooper, then attained her MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
