Clonmel Junction Arts Festival started almost 20 years ago as a celebration of touring theatre and live music. Over the years, it has grown into a week-long arts festival where national and international acts share a stage with some of the best local talent.Clonmel Junction Arts Festival, one of the key arts events of the summer in the South-East, is currently underway – but in a re-worked and re-imagined fashion. With a theme of 2020:Visionaries, the festival will bring its audience a host of events from 4th – 12th July that are taking place in a virtual context, as well as a series of visual arts events in the town itself.I had the opportunity to chat with some of the large team of people who are making it all happen, from the festival hub/studio in O’Connell St, who shared with me some of their personal highlights and the challenges of adapting to the new circumstances.
