For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God--and He is interceding for us." This simple yet powerful verse reveals why Jesus is the perfect intercessor for his people - because he has already paid our debt in full and makes our prayer requests known to God.  Colossians 1:18 asserts Jesus' authority as our ultimate intercessor and emphasizes his position as head of the church.
