Jeremy and the hosts define and explain the new heart and war of a biblical anthropology that is driven by the work of the Holy Spirit. This work is set on cultivating the new man, which is being made after his creator for God’s glory.

The host's continue to work through ch. 9 of Jeremy's book, biblical counseling basics, to establish a biblical anthropology and draw stark differences of the humanist view and their lack of proper categories for a robust understanding of anthropology.

In this episode, Jeremy and the hosts, establish a humanistic and biblical worldview on anthropology and their respective differences and implications on academia in the field of psychology and its monumental consequences on the culture. Then, they begin to draw sharp contrast with respect to a biblical worldview on anthropology.

In this bonus episode, the hosts discuss a prevalent christianese phrase, “The Holy Spirit is a gentleman”, he won’t impose himself when believers aren’t ready, or something to this effect. Is this theologically accurate? Why do people resist a big God theology? Why are so many believers still human-centric?

Mike, Shauna, and Jeremy finish the series, "God & counseling", God the Holy Spirit: our comforter and counselor. What the Father purposed, God the Son accomplished on the cross becoming our propitiation, and now the Holy Spirit applies all that Christ accomplished. In other words, the third person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit, has claimed the terrain of human flourishing, it's His work. And He is more committed to the process of change than we can control; His timing, His process, His work.

Our co-host, Jeremy launches right into a question that speaks to the tensions that exist within the christian community with psychology and theology. Eric provides a robust response that captures the reality of differing worldview’s within psychology, but provides a persuasive wholistic response for Christians to do their research and take back psychology. Faith and science are not opposed to one another. However, psychology needs to be taken back by rendering it into biblical categories instead of humanistic categories - a must listen!

In this episode we interview Lee Lewis, pastor, and biblical counselor on the nature of depression and biblically responsive ways to identify it and confront it. Our hosts and special guest provide a brief contrast on how our culture responds to depression and how the local church can respond to it and provide gospel hope through community; learning from depression and rightly orienting our hearts in the place of sorrow.

Curtis takes time to Demystify PTSD by removing the D out of it. It’s not an abnormal reaction to normal life, but it’s really a normal response to really extreme and difficult circumstances. PTSD is severely misunderstood, and in this episode Curtis offers a robust understanding to the nature and scope of PTSD.

Jonathan discusses his heart behind his book, "Counsel for Couples: A Biblical and Practical Guide for Marriage Counseling", and as a pastor and biblical counselor, discusses the need for the local church to have marriage counseling available in the local church. He expresses the urgency for the local church to have a "culture of care" and to promote preventative ministries. This book is unique because it could be used for lay leaders, church leaders, and leadership development....A must have resource!

Greg Wilson discusses the nature and scope of “Domestic Violence”, providing a working definition for domestic violence and presents an educational glimpse into the world of a common perpetrator and consequent victim, and provides a fresh perspective on how the church needs to understand the delicacy of domestic abuse in the local church.

Paul Tripp discusses his heart behind his recent book release on suffering, “Suffering: gospel hope when life doesn’t make sense”, which was largely due to his own recent experiences in suffering through acute renal failure. Listen as Paul shares the nature of suffering and our response to it.

Christ purchased the life I couldn’t live so he could give us his life, the life that the Father works through. Christ purchased my inability to follow God’s law, to bring him glory, and my weakness. He paid the legal demands my sin costs, he literally nailed to the cross(Col. 2.14) canceling its legal demands for man’s soul. Therefore, sin no longer has dominion, but a presence. It might remain, but it no longer remains! What the Father purposed in eternity past with man, The Messiah, Jesus Christ, purchased! He made it possible!! We are new creations.

In this episode, Jeremy, from his book high centers on a couple of chapters that focus on God as the starting point, and His communicable attributes, namely, His omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence, and how these attributes demonstrate themselves in counseling. Mike, Shauna, and Jeremy are in studio to conclude their discussion on, "what is biblical counseling". In this episode, they discuss the nature of biblical counseling and discipleship, that they're not that different in their dynamic and scope. Based on Ephesians 4:11-14, equipping the Saints for the work of the ministry is informal biblical counseling, both intentional and intensive. More over, if the local church isn't progressing in this level of "one another-ing", then the Saints will go to modern psychology seeking help and solutions for their problems and distress. The culture has a church and doctrine, its called, modern psychology, and their doctrine is the diagnostic statistical manual. And it counter's the gospel they received from God's Word, so we have some work to do.

In this episode, Jeremy provides a distinction between “Christian counseling”, and Biblical Counseling, their theories and methodologies. And then an historical survey of soul care from the time of St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, The Puritans acute knowledge and awareness of soul care, to Martin Luther, and through the modernist movement that pioneered the scope of modern psychology as we know it today, and then provides the state of urgency for the local church today.
