Earlier this month a deal was struck between the port of Amsterdam, the Port of Cork, and an Irish company EIH2 to export hydrogen from Cork – as part of the long-term battle to decarbonise our energy mix at a time of soaring fuel costs. But there’s still lots to do including the construction of brand new infrastructure in the southwest and even a wholesale change of mindsets. Catherine Sheridan from EIH2 spoke to Joe from Cork

Frank O’Connor Chief executive of the National Treasury Management Agency or the NTMA spoke to Joe this morning about the fact that the NTMA said it had enough money and wouldn’t need to go for any bond sales for the rest of the year. It’s a dramatic transformation since the financial crisis and especially when compared to our near neighbour in the UK whose government has to pay double what the Irish Government is to sell bonds.

€11 billion makes the budget announced yesterday by the coalition, the biggest ever spending splurge since the foundation of the state. To take an in-depth look at Budget 2023 Joe was joined by two experts from the consultant's Grant Thornton Tax Director Sarah Meredith and also Andrew Webb Chief Economist.
