L'histoire, à travers sa discographie, de Yes, le groupe surement le plus important du rock progressif.Yes est un des groupes fondateurs du rock progressif et peut être celui qui a porté le genre au pinacle avec l'album Close To The Edge. De ce fait, il est un des groupes les plus célèbres des années soixante-dix remplissant les salles américaines comme européennes avec une constance sans pareille. Il est aussi le groupe qui a su se régénérer à l'heure ou s'avouer prog n'était pas bien vu et produire le tube ultime " Owner of a Lonely Heart ".Une musique complexe et spectaculaire faite d'harmonies vocales et de virtuosité musicale née de la rencontre d'un chanteur, Jon Anderson, à la voix haut perchée et aux aspirations spirituelles et d'un bassiste, Chris Squire, au sens mélodique certain. Mais c'est en 1971 avec l'arrivée du guitariste Steve Howe et du claviériste flamboyant Rick Wakeman que Yes s'installe sur le devant de la scène.
