Comedy podcast where married, nerd couple, David and Monica take on extreme questions about the best/worst/saddest elements or episodes of a TV Series. WARNING: here there be spoilers and they use adult language. They'll select and 80's cartoons, a netflix series, or even a social media account in order to answer the question of the episode.

NERDISODES 15 – “Best Use of Puppets”

Monica picks an episode of Angel called “Smile Time” where demonic puppets battle the heroes at Wolfram and Hart. It is crazy dark! David chooses an episode from the classic Twilight Zone series called “The Dummy.” Maybe one of the most frightening concepts brought to the screen.

NERIDSODE 14 – “Biggest Shock”

No bad seasons and it knows how to end the entire story. We cut to Season 3, when Limehouse hits berserker mode. Monica champions Downton Abbey. We talk Maggie Smith, we talk their hair/costumes and also that shocking episode which aired on Christmas.

NERDISODE 13 – “Best Musical Epiosde”
09/07/2019 Duración: 01h03minWhat’s up doc? Monica bring a good challenge to the DaM Recording Studios and explores the question “what is the best musical episode on TV?" She goes to one of her favorite episodes of all time and picks “Once More With Feeling” from Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Great capture of the musical genre, with some really dark reveals in the episode. They go the mustard out!! David takes us back to the classic Looney Tunes and pulls forward “Rabbit of Seville” starring that wascally wabbit, Bugs Bunny. Set to the tune of Barber of Seville this episode pulls forth some classic bits and still – after over 50 years, manages to make us laugh. Thank you for supporting us. Nerdisodes 12 - "Best Main Character"

David has an history in writing and brings an excellent level of analysis to this episodes choices. Our host, David, picks his top favorite series of all time, Sherlock on the BBC with Benedict Cumberbatch. The creativity behind the storytelling + the dark, flawed main character really brings it home. We talk Season 1, Episode 1 – “A Study in Pink.” Monica picks a classic, a fan favorite, a series we all enjoy. She picks Parks & Rec with Leslie Knope. Leslie is a passionate, funny, charming main character who is also a great leader of the ensemble team. We discuss the episode “Win, Lose, or Draw” when Leslie wins a seat as a City Councilmember! Monica chooses Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog as her pick for “Villain You Want to See Win.” She could practically quote this entire movie. We want to see NPH win because we adore him - as an actor, as a person and as this character. Bad Horse … Bad Horse … David finally chooses Southpark – surprise, surprise another cartoon. We talk about Cartman and why you want to see him win … as he strips naked to cross in front of an auction. Southpark and its use of metaphor gives us a lot of unpack. Thanks for watching! NERDISODE 8 – “Best Battle”

Before we get into the episode, there may be foul language, we talk about the endings of episodes and as always… “you’re the best, f--k the rest.” …. all men must die. Monica takes us to Westeros for one of the most beautiful and difficult to watch episodes, “Battle of the Bastards.” We see Ramsay at his peak of evil and we almost lose Tormund. Amazing landscapes and the battles are immersive. But nothing compares to the battle of the icon of evil, Megatron, versus the epitome of honor, Optimus Prime. In the season 1 finale, “Heavy Metal War” Megatron and Optimus go toe-to-toe and the loser must leave Earth forever. Introduction of the Constructicons and not only that: DINOBOTS UNLEASHED! David explains why Serenity (from the episode titled “Serenity”) caught his vote for best ship in a series. Monica chooses Vikings. The ships that the Vikings developed is what made them such a powerful presence in the world. She also lets her true feelings slip about Nathan Fillion, John Barrowman, and Ragnar. NERDISODE 6 – “Best Rainy Day Episode.”

The Nerdisode Cannon, is always: we talk spoilers, we use adult language and ALLONS-Z!! It’s about time we dish on Gilmore Girls. Monica picks her absolute favorite episode of Gilmore Girls where Rory discovers the “Life and Death Brigade.” Also in this episode Luke confronts the epic steamrolling of the elder Gilmores! Where you lead, I will follow … Black Mirror catches David’s attention, specifically the season 4 finale, Black Museum. This episode has Easter eggs of past episodes, but is a sideshow attraction of terrifying technology fails. It has some amazing acting, and both David and Monica are blown away by the performance of the two leads: Douglas Hodge and Letitia Wright. Hope you enjoy it, and tell your friends!

NERDISODE 5 – “Most Underrated.”

The Nerdisode Cannon includes: we discuss spoilers we use adult language, and “1, 2, 3 … Jesus loves you.” We get dicey in this episode and unlock the achievement of what show we think is the most underrated. David unpacks an episode of Community, where they deep dive into a narrative we rarely see on TV – video games. Video games are all based in stories, and it is truly creative when a TV show honors all those tropes and experiences in 8-bit graphics! Monica pulls up an entire series as the most underrated show. She brings out a fan favorite of The Amazing Race. Contestants travel around the world and challenge themselves through anxious tasks. NERDISODE 4 – “Best Stand-Alone Episode.”

The THREE NEVER FORGETABLE LAWS of Nerdisodes are: we talk spoilers, we use adult language and “purple is the color of passion.” Recording in the company of our cats and enjoying a drink, we discuss which episode is the best stand-alone episode from a series. Wibbley-wobbley, timey-whimey … we finally talk Doctor Who. Monica chooses “Blink” as the best episode of the series that stands-alone. You can watch this one episode and without the rest of the series and enjoy it. Also, an introduction to one of the best Doctor Who villains of all time: the Weeping Angels. Life is like a hurricane. And David brings us back old school (to another cartoon) with Ducktails (ahwoo-wooo). An episode that discusses how Scrooge McDuck earned all his money opens up a great discussion about why, so many years later, does it still resonate with David. Thank you for listening!

This Nerdisode we argue over which series we believe has the best romance. REMEMBER ME! David picks the animated series Futurama and their series finale. One of the episodes, but it especially highlights the romance between Leela and Fry. Great writing. It really gave him that emotional feeling of intimacy and romance. Monica picks the wedding episode of Outlander. In which they get it on – 3 times! Not only do we talk about the borderline soft core pornography of the episode but also the dangerous wedding rituals.
