For A Green Future

This is a special presentation of our interview with Stephany Seay of Roam Free Nation. She is talking about the Yellowstone National Park proposal for revising the Park's plan for "managing" the last wild herd of Bison in the United States. There are three proposals, the best would allow bison populations to increase to up to 7,000, but as she points out, that's still not good enough. Yellowstone is currently taking comments on the different plans before they choose one. In the interview, she says that the deadline for comments is September 25, 2023. After being given the runaround by township officials we obtained a copy of the proposed zoning amendment, which Joe analyzes on air. Next he interviews Tim Judson, Executive Director at NIRS where they are celebrating NIRS's 45th anniversary of fighting nuclear power. Rebecca Wood then celebrates the stuffed green pepper and its enviornmental implications. Next we have an excellent interview with Molly Wickham, also known as Sleydo' who is continuing to fight the Coastal Gas Link pipeline in the unceded Wet'suwet'en tribal lands that exist inside of Canada' British Columbia. We first interviewed her in 2020, and the battle has continued non-stop since then. Rebecca Wood talks to us about how the jet stream loops are contributing to the wildfires and rain bombs all over the planet. Joe DeMare takes back hosting duties to discuss the Ohio Nuclear Development Authority that was stuck back into the budget bill and signed by DeWine, though he modified it with his line item veto. Next Shehbaz Khan interviews Diane D'Arrigo from NIRS about S1111 the bill to reauthorize the Price-Anderson Act and to sell our nuke plants to other countries. Rebecca Wood, in honor of the fourth of July talks about our native American Alligator, found nowhere else on Earth. The theme is fatherhood as Guest Host Shehbaz Khan talks about fathers good, bad, and indifferent in the animal kingdom. Both he and Co-Host Rebecca Wood talk about experiences with their own fathers and nature, and how their fathers instilled a love of nature in both of them. Two callers share their fatherhood stories including tales from the Canadian wilderness and being attacked by swans. Rebecca's segment is a review of the gay movie classic, "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert," and ecological news covers Ohio's HB434 being removed from the budget bill and the global surge in rooftop solar installations.
