    03/11/2018 Duración: 09min

Australia's Cricket team hasn't had the best start to the season, but on Sunday they're back on home ground at Optus Stadium and the coach Justin Langer is keen to get a win on the board.  "Let me cut to the chase," Langer told 6PR. "We've got to stop playing like millionaires and get the job done. It's as simple as that." "The best players adapt and we've got to keep doing that whether it's 20/20, 50 overs or test cricket," Langer says. Langer was honoured earlier on Saturday morning with the south end of Optus Stadium being named after him. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

  • Christina Matthew Justin Langer Stand

    03/11/2018 Duración: 10min

WA Cricket has thrived with Justin Langer as a player then a coach and it's earned him a spot as the head coach of Australia and now he's been honoured at the new home ground of Cricket in WA. The south end of Optus Stadium has been named the Justin Langer Stand. WACA CEO Christina Matthews made the announcement on Saturday morning and spoke with 6PR about the unveiling of the stand. "We've taken the move this year to, every cricket season to put up the sign and we'll have people bowling or batting from the Justin Langer stand end or the WACA Members Reserve stand end so it gives it a nice cricket feel," Ms Matthews told Sportsworld.  The resignation of Cricket Australia Chairman David Peever during the week didn't shock many people but Ms Matthews says he wasn't pushed out by the other Board members.  "We had expressed reservations to the few things that had happened and that was as far as it went for us," she says. But Ms Matthews was reluctant to commit to the newly available

Perth Glory head into their new season with a new CEO, a new Coach, new Captain and some fresh faces in the squad, and owner, Tony Sage, says they are positive as they launch into their first game on Sunday.  But Mr Sage says he's "extremely disappointed" with the lack of promotion of the competition and is looking forward to a new look competition in the near future. "That's why the owners are angry, that's why there'll be an independent A League next year and you will see chalk and cheese. The promotion of the game will improve dramatically once the A-League is stripped from the FFA," Mr Sage told 6PR. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We'll certainly welcome him back, he obviously didn't have the series that he wanted to have," Voges told 6PR.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

  • Peter Bell

    20/10/2018 Duración: 09min

Fremantle landed their man, Jesse Hogan, after on-again, off-again discussion that kept footy fans guessing for weeks; Fremantle General Manager of Football Peter Bell says it was a difficult deal to execute.  "It certainly wasn't smooth the whole way, I guess there's no textbook way to have those discussions and negotiations. There were a few ups and downs," Bell told 6PR. "It's an incredibly complicated deal but once we reengaged on Monday and we sorted through a few things we were very pleased to get to the outcome that we landed at."The Dockers were also able to gain Rory Lobb, Reece Conca and Travis Colyer during the AFL Trade period and they're happy with how their new-look squad is forming. "Our best 22 is a pretty good line up," Bell said."The key is to get them all out in the park, but certainly we've brought in talent so if they're all up and about and playing their best football I think we're a pretty threatening outfit."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

West Coast Eagles Premiership winning midfielder Elliot Yeo has won his second Fairest and Best award in consecutive years, but the humble player puts his success down to a coach who's leaving. Yeo says any improvement he has made over the last few years has been because Sam Mitchell has put the hard yards in. "There's still plenty that I feel can give and there's still parts of my game that I've got to work on. I've worked closely with Sam Mitchell this year and it's going to see him go," Yeo told 6PR. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
