  • Mammoth WVH, Outrigger, Newport Nights & BBRR

    23/06/2021 Duración: 56min

Dan and Eric return for a belated Father's Day edition of Beats, Beards & Brews — because there's never a wrong time to throw on some rock tunes, grab some brats, fire up the grill, and spend some quality time with your Dad (if he's still around) or some other fatherly figure. Why all the Dad talk? Because the boys are reviewing Wolfgang Van Halen's debut solo album, released after the passing of his legendary father, Eddie Van Halen, back in October 2020. • A Conversation

    02/04/2021 Duración: 33min

The episode you are about to listen to is a conversation that took place between Eric, Evan and Dan that was recorded after allegations of sexual misconduct and sexual assault perpetrated by musician Sean Tillmann — who performs as Har Mar Superstar — were made public. We learned of the allegations shortly after releasing an episode of the podcast where we reviewed Har Mar Superstar’s latest album. This episode offers a behind the scenes look at the conversation that took place as we processed the news and debated how to best respond to it — or whether we should even respond to the news at all. We hope that releasing this episode encourages anyone listening to have similar conversations of their own and speak up if you are witness to any sort of inappropriate or abusive behavior. We stand with those who came forward about the sexual assault and misconduct perpetrated by Har Mar Superstar. This includes those who remain silent, but have had similar experiences regardless of gender or sexual orientation. There

  • Julien Baker, The Baker CBD Beard Oil, NEIPAs

    10/03/2021 Duración: 59min

Close the blinds, light some scented candles and curl up into the fetal position on your couch — it's time for yet another "sad boi" episode of Beats, Beards & Brews. This time the gang attempts to avoid falling into depression while reviewing singer-songwriter Julien Baker's third album Little Oblivions. In all seriousness, Julien Baker is a talented musician, definitely give the album a shot, just be prepared for an intensely personal and emotional musical journey. And check out the story behind every song on the album, while you're at it. Julien Baker tracks previewed on this episode include: "Ringside" "Song in E" "Heat Wave" Next up, Eric and Dan somehow fail to connect the dots that they are reviewing an album by Julien Baker and a CBD beard oil called The Baker by Fable Beard Company. Dan must have been too distracted by the overwhelming scent of pastries and baked goods under his nose, in his house, and on his pillow. Eric actually kind of enjoys this scent, despite its strength. Surprise, surpr

  • Weezer, Beardbrand Deodorant, Imperial Stouts

    11/02/2021 Duración: 01h18min

We'd be lying if we said OK Human was the first Weezer album we expected to review in 2021 ... that honor goes to the yet-to-be-released Van Weezer ... but here we are. Instead of a rockin Weezer album inspired by Van Halen, we're listening to an orchestral pop rock record inspired by the pandemic. Strange times, indeed! Weezer tracks previewed on this episode include: "Aloo Gobi" "Playing My Piano" "Here Comes The Rain" In a new segment titled "Pittin' Out With Eric" the boys share how many swipes of deodorant they apply to curb their odors, alongside other enthralling deodorant conversation. Finally, the boys break out some heavy duty, high abv Imperial Stouts from War Tree Brewing (War Tree Imperial Stout) and Surly Brewing Company (Darkness 2020 Russian Imperial Stout).
