In the summer of 2002, a radioactive spider bit a mild mannered teenager and the world would never be the same. Gaining the proportionate strength of a spider along with tensile webbing and the ability to crawl on walls, Peter Parker became Spider-Man. Director Sam Raimi did what many had tried to do for years and brought the webhead from Amazing Fantasy to the big screen. With a stellar ensemble cast and crew, it would set a standard for a genre in its infancy and serve as a template for the next 20 years for superhero movies and film itself.

At the height of a full moon, those in East Proctor follow a simple phrase. “Stick to the roads and beware the moors.” In 1981, two young Americans did just the opposite. Crossing the English countryside, they heard a series of howls and a creature thought to exist only in myth attacked them. For David, surviving that night was not an act of mercy but a curse. For the wolfs bite flowed within him and the city of London was about to bare witness to a creature neither man nor beast. Tonight, to cap off this years Halloween Horror Month, and on a full moon, we are watching and discussing An American Werewolf in London.

In 1996, 2 masked killers brutally and strategically murdered 7 people in the peaceful town of Woodsboro, California. Utilizing horror movie and pop culture iconography as a coda to kill by. However, the ghost face killer hasn’t been seen in over a decade. This is until Sydney Prescott returns home to promote her book and open up an old chapter from her past. A new generation of teenagers begin to get calls from an unknown number with an all too familiar voice. The rules of the sequels are thrown out and the reboot of the Woodsboro massacre is in full effect, the only questions are, what’s the motive and who’s the killer? 

In 1957, a young boy drowned at camp crystal lake. Years later 2 counselors were stabbed to death followed by a set of fires. The campgrounds were considered cursed. The locals began to call it "Camp Blood" and for years the site would stay silent just as it’s victims. In 1980, a group of new teenagers were brutally murdered in one night. For an evil dormant beneath crystal lake was resurrected on its very birthday, Friday the 13th.

A South Korean village becomes host to a series of brutal murders, infections and mayhem. Coroners say its related to shrooms but the officers and many in the town think a Japanese man who just moved into town not long ago is to blame. What follows is a tale of possession, lies and supernatural horror which tears apart a fathers sanity and his family’s soul. Deeply rooted in Korean folklore and myth, todays show we discuss Na Hong-Jin's The Wailing.

In 2018 we shot our first short film, "Dear Hearts and Gentle People". It was a labor intensive effort that required everyone’s schedules, attention and sanity. For todays show we will be talking about the process this took from both a technical and personal level. From the perspectives of the Writer/Director & Director of Photography. The concept of another Spider-Man was nothing new in 2011. Yet the medium paused for a moment when Marvel introduced a young afro-latino from Brooklyn as the new Ultimate Spider-Man. Since then Miles Morales has come to shine as an example of how to properly execute a legacy character, represent both black/latino cultures in storytelling & become one of the best characters at the house of ideas.
