Part 10 - James 4:13-17 The best way to live, is to be someone who obeys God, seeks first the kingdom of God and boasts only in Jesus. So whether your “business” is a building site, a church, a company, a home, a school or whatever. You need to want Christ’s will to triumph, more than your ‘wants’ or your own plans.

James 4v1-12: Part 9 A maturity and growing christian is someone who is saved by the grace of God and is satisfied in no one but God. They daily fight worldly influences in the life by submitting to God, resisting the devil, drawing near to God in humble repentance and therefore they rebel against the world, and not against God.

Part 8: James 3v13-18 A genuine believer is someone who fears and loves the Lord and who applies God’s word humbly and consistently to their daily life. They therefore show wisdom at home, work and in all their relationships.

James 3:1-12 Part 7:The test of the tame tongue The smallest but biggest troublemaker in all the world is the tongue - but it does not have to be that way. God can use your tongue to bring blessing and good, to direct others into the way of life, to encourage people in the trials of life. The tongue may be small, but it has great power. Give God your tongue and your heart each day and ask him to use it to be a blessing to others.

James 2:14-26 A genuine believer is someone whose faith is saving faith. The out working off saving faith is seen in their commitment, obedience, worship and delight in the Lord. Therefore their salvation is not just based on a prayer they prayed years ago, but is a daily reality today, as the evidence of their love for God continues to grow.

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Paul Jackson speaking on Sunday evening...

A genuine christian is someone whose love of God is seen in an active desire to demonstrate love to everyone they meet - it means you will constantly fight the temptation to judge others. You will accept that it is your responsibility to always be the one who responds first to the needs of others and take time to open your heart to others irrespective of the persons background, personality or position.

The real emphasis of James 1:19-27 is the danger of self-deception. It is one thing for the Christian to be deceived by Satan, but if you deceive yourself, this is something far more serious. The mark of a mature person, is someone who faces themself honestly, who knows themselves, and admits they needs help. By contrast, the immature person thinks they are rich, self-sufficient, and have no need of anything. James says that this all comes down to your relationship with God and the word of God.

Perseverance in suffering - Be steadfast under trials, because your goal is to be more like Christ and more in love with God. So if that means God testing, humbling and breaking - you will prays ‘Lord, do whatever it takes, and help me to endure’. James 1:2-12

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
